Stanley “Stan the Maine Man” L. Dugas, 67, of Caledonia, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at his residence.
He was born on March 5, 1957 to the late Leonard S. and Barbara Jean (Doughty) Dugas in Portland, Maine.
On September 24, 1988 he married Kathleen Huissen in Camden, Maine. They met at a National Jaycees convention in Milwaukee. He was very active in the local and state Jaycee organization in Maine. He was awarded a Senatorship for all that he did. He is currently a member of the Racine Moose lodge in Racine.
Stan was currently working as an assistant manager for Holz Chevrolet for 17 years.
Stan was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church in Racine. He was very active and instrumental in the church. He would occasionally do the sermons and was known for his award winning chili dinners.
Stan loved to cook and he was a great chef. Kathy and the family will sure miss those meals. He had a wonderful sense of humor and everyone around him will miss that. He loved his home state of Maine and he will always be a “Mainah”. Most of all, Stan loved spending time with his family. He had a very special relationship with his granddaughters and he will always be there “Bumpa”.
Stan is survived by his loving wife Kathleen, his children Natasha Dugas, Courtney Dugas, Shane Dugas and Scott Dugas. His pride and joy were his granddaughters Gracie Dugas, Sophie Dugas and Kenzie Dugas. He was, and always will be, “Bumpa” to them. His siblings Lori Jensen, Larry (Mary) Jensen, Sharon Harmon, Brian (Mary Jane) Dugas and Chris Jensen Jr.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather Chris Jensen, a brother Matthew Dugas and his brother-in-law Rick Harmon.
A Celebration of Life for Stan will be held on Saturday, November 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
