Betty M. Varnell, 65, of Kenosha, passed away on November 1, 2024, at Aurora Medical Center of Kenosha surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 14, 1959, in Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Eva (Hubbard) Brown. Betty was educated in the schools of Chicago and married David Varnell on September 23, 1990, in Kenosha. She was a cherished member of Bethlehem Temple.
Betty’s hobbies included sewing, cooking, baking, cheering for the Chicago Bears and Chicago Bulls, but most of all, she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, David Varnell of Kenosha; her children, Kendall (Desiree) Brown of Kenosha, Larry Luckett of Madison, Joshua Brown of Kenosha, Isaiah Varnell of Kenosha, and Elijah Varnell of Kenosha; her brothers, Andrew Brown of Kenosha, Anthony Brown of Kenosha, and Oscar Brown of Chicago. She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Don, Willie, and Robert, and her sister Brenda.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Kenosha Funeral Services, with funeral services to follow immediately at 12:00 PM. Burial will take place at Green Ridge Cemetery.
