George “Eddie” E. Istvanek Sr., 91, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Monday, November 18, 2024 at Hospice Alliance Hospice House.
He was born on June 8, 1933 to the late Stephen and Mary (Bizon) in Pleasant Prairie. He was educated in Kenosha County.
On September 3, 1960 Eddie married Betty Wood in Racine.
Eddie was a forklift driver for AMC/Chrysler for many years and was a member of UAW Local #72.
Eddie enjoyed watching sports and was a Packers fan, taking trips to casinos and going to Minnesota. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 64 years Betty, his children Lori (Bill) Low, George E. Istvanek Jr., and Ruth (Randy) Thiesfeld, his grandsons Steven Moss, Jordan and Noah Winters, Connor and Carter Thiesfeld, his siblings Mary Myers, Charlie Istvanek, James (Heidi) Istvanek and Patricia Cairo and his grand pup Sully.
He is preceded in death by his siblings Albert Istvanek, Elizabeth Packman, Rose Cherny, Ida Davis, Stephen Istvanek Jr., and Ann Benoit.
Funeral Services for Eddie will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at the Bruch Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
