Adam Lawrence Wisowaty, 42, passed away unexpectedly and joined our Heavenly Father on November 4, 2024. He was born on March 13, 1982, in Lake Forest, Illinois, to Daniel and Nancy Wisowaty but was raised on Lake Shangrila in Bristol, Wisconsin. That was where his love and passion for the great outdoors truly began.
Growing up on the water, Adam loved to swim, boat, and wakeboard, and spent countless summer weekends with his cousins, Jonathon and Nicole, on Lake Elizabeth in Twin Lakes. He was very active as a child in sports including baseball, basketball, hockey, golf, and football. Some of his dearest and most treasured friendships came from those early years on Lake Shangrila—the boys were always looking for an adventure, whether it was pitching a tent in the backyard, biking or skateboarding, fishing in the yearly ice derby, or just goofing around together. He was silly and curious, loyal, and so loving.
Adam was a sweet, caring, and sensitive brother to his twin sisters, always keeping the girls on their toes because he could be a real rascal at times. They are so blessed to have countless wonderful memories growing up together. And even though there was a 4-year age difference, that gap seemed to close in adulthood. They pushed each other to be the best they could be, supported each other through triumphs and heartbreak, and were not only siblings, but genuine friends. Adam walked alongside them when they needed him the most. His sisters loved seeing his soft, gentle, goofy side come out when he would spend time with his nieces who he adored.
Adam’s early years fishing alongside his father extended beyond home at Lake Shangrila, and included many trips to northern Wisconsin, Door County, and Minnesota. This turned into a lifelong passion for fishing that took him all around the world. Whether it was sailfishing off the coast of Guatemala or permit fishing in the Florida Keys, he was ever up for a new adventure. But his heart and love of fishing always brought him back home—to the lakes and places that meant the most to him, with the friends and family that he dearly loved. His most treasured trips were with the friends he considered his brothers; Kyle, Gabe, and Martin. Whether it was ice fishing in the UP, walleye fishing in Green Bay, musky fishing in Cass Lake, salmon fishing in Lake Michigan, or just casting poles from the shores with the kids—on the water was where his heart was the most content.
Adam was hardworking, determined, and driven, and after college he developed a love for the IT world. At 25, he started his own business building custom webpages while working on earning multiple certifications. He continued to work his way up to roles such as Senior Engineer before beginning his career at Nutanix as a Consulting Architect. He traveled extensively with his job, which reinforced his passion for seeing and exploring new destinations in his down-time.
One of the happiest times in Adam’s life was when he met his partner and the love of his life, Alma Arroyo, and her son, Matteo. Alma brought out the best in Adam and he continually expressed to his family that she was his true soulmate. Adam developed a close bond with Matteo, sharing his love of the outdoors and always encouraging him to try something new. As a family of 3, they went on many incredible adventures together and made memories that will last a lifetime.
Adam will be deeply and forever missed by the family and friends that loved him endlessly.
Adam is survived by his mother, Nancy (Shaver) Wisowaty; twin sisters, Beth Wisowaty and Lynn Mueller; nieces, Brooke and Chloe Mueller; many cousins, aunts, uncles, and close friends who he cared for dearly; and of course, the love of his life, Alma Arroyo, and her son, Matteo Arroyo.
In death he is reunited with his father, Daniel Wisowaty; Grandparents, Lawrence and Barbara (Berek) Wisowaty and John E. and Anita (Levesque) Shaver. He is also reunited with his aunt, Kathleen S. Snavely; and uncle, David M. Shaver.

A memorial visitation will be held from 9:00AM until 10:00AM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00AM. Interment to follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
