James Williams, aged 80, of Kenosha, passed away on November 22, 2024, at Froedtert South Pleasant Prairie Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 10, 1944, in Arkansas, he was the son of the late Cora Williams. James was educated in the schools of Mississippi and married Edna Lee on September 30, 1967, in Mississippi. He was self-employed for many years and served in the United States Army. A devoted member of Victory Baptist Church, James enjoyed working on cars, cooking, gardening, attending sporting events, cheering for the Chicago Cubs, and most of all, spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
James is survived by his wife, Edna Williams of Kenosha; his children, Willie James Lee of Illinois, Rudy Lee of Illinois, Louis (Maria) Williams of Kenosha, and Tyna Williams of Minnesota; his brother, Curtis Dempsey of Indiana; his sisters, Louise Williams of Mississippi, Emma Dempsey of Indiana, and Connie Coleman; as well as 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sons, Anthony and Gregory Williams, his brother JW, and his sister Blanche Bowen.
A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Victory Baptist Church, 3401-Springbrook Rd., Pleasant Prairie, WI, 53158, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with funeral services to follow at 12:00 PM.
