Rose A. Roberts (nee Alisauskas), a longtime resident of Kenosha, passed away on November 23rd, 2024. She was 91 years old.
Rose was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin to loving parents William and Stella Alisauskas. She was educated in Kenosha Schools and later met and married the love of her life, Thomas D. Roberts, on June 12th, 1954, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. The two were blessed with 4 children, and although Rose loved her waitressing jobs, her primary focus was on raising her children and tending to the duties of the home.
In 1984, Rose and Thomas relocated to Green Lake, where she became very involved in her parish, Our Lady of the Lake. She was a eucharistic minister, volunteered at every church event she could, and even learned to bake pies in service of her church. Ultimately Rose and Thomas would move back to Kenosha in 2010, but she always looked back fondly on her days there.
In her spare time, Rose loved reading, playing Bingo, Friday night movies, Joke of the Day, and was particularly grateful for the friendships she made at Harborside Commons, where she moved after the loss of her husband. She was also a proud poll worker, helping to ensure elections were run smoothly and honestly. Rose was also known to enjoy a Brandy Old Fashioned from time to time. Her main hobby, however, which took precedence over all else, was her love for family. She knew the names and stories of every cousin and niece and nephew from far and wide.
Rose is survived by her sons James Roberts of Kenosha and David (Paula) Roberts of Salem Ohio, a daughter Susan (Dan) Reilly of Verona Wisconsin, grandchildren Ashley (Peter) McLean of Paris Ontario, Caitlin Roberts of Chapel Hill North Carolina, Bill Reilly (Fiancé Morgan Braunshausen) of Woodbury Minnesota, and Sean Reilly of Verona Wisconsin. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren Alexander and Charlotte, and by her sister Anne Klepesky of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, and a sister-in-law Sarah Davis in California, and by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family from coast to coast.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Tommy, a sister Helen, and by her beloved husband Thomas D. Roberts.
Services for Rose will be held on Thursday, December 5th, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (2224 30th ave, Kenosha). A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am. Visitation with the family will be from 10am until Mass.
