Larry L. Zapp, 67, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at his home.
He was born May 29, 1957, in Kenosha, WI to Martin and Elaine (Henkel) Zapp. He attended and graduated from local schools and received his associates from Gateway. He founded and operated Zapp Painting for over 40 years. Larry was proud to grow Zapp Painting into a family business and loved having Chris join him for the past 18 years by his side.
Larry enjoyed watching sunrises over Lake Michigan, hunting, traveling, taking yearly trips to Florida and motorcycle trips all over Wisconsin. He loved being a dad and coaching Chris’ softball and basketball teams. Larry liked watching sports. His work ethic was unmatched because of his drive to be a leader and teacher to anyone willing to learn. Above all, Larry cherished his time spent with his family and grandchildren. He was proud to watch his legacy unfold through Chris and the family he has created.
Larry is survived by his son, Chris (Rachel) Zapp; mother, Elaine Schlosser; siblings, Lorrie (Jr.) Marzini and LeRoy (Sue) Zapp; grandchildren, Emma & Kayla Zapp; sister-in-law, Sue Zapp; and mother of his son, Linda Zapp-Flesch.
In addition to his dad, Larry was preceded in death by a son at birth, Nicholas Zapp; and brother, Lenny Zapp.
Memorial Visitation for Larry will be held at Proko Funeral Home on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 Noon. Private interment will be held.
