It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gary Allen Haubrich, beloved father, devoted grandfather and cherished friend, who left this world peacefully on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on September 4, 1947, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Gary lived a life dedicated to family, tradition, and his craft as a skilled electrician.
Gary had a warm heart and an infectious smile that lit up every room he entered. He was proud to serve in the Army, demonstrating his commitment to his country and his fellow citizens. After completing his military service, he made his mark in the trades, working diligently for Hucker Electric Company, where he earned the respect and admiration of many colleagues and clients throughout his career.
When Gary was not hard at work, his love of speed and racing would often find him at Road America in Elkart Lake, Wisconsin watching and cheering on his favorite INDYCAR drivers. As an avid Chevy man throughout his entire life, he acquired his teal, ’55 Chevy right out of high school and truly enjoyed sharing this other love of his life with his friends and family for many years. The gift of this family treasure will continue to live on with his daughter.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Heather Jacobson, who has been a source of unending love and support, as well as his son-in-law, Brandon Jacobson. Gary will also be deeply missed by his adoring grandchildren, Matthew Haubrich, Kyler Jacobson, and Brooke Jacobson, who brought him immense joy in their youth and accomplishments; his sister-in-law, Karen Juga; his brother-in-law, William LaMacchia; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Vera (Panyan) Haubrich; brother, Lawrence Juga; and sister, Sharon “Chickie” LaMacchia.
Gary’s legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering support for his family and friends will forever remain a guiding light in their lives. As we gather to honor and remember him, we invite all who knew and loved Gary to join us in celebrating his life.
In this time of mourning, let us reflect on the wonderful moments shared with Gary and hold dear the lessons he imparted throughout his life. He will be missed profoundly, but his love and laughter will stay with us always.
