Juan M. Llanas, 91 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, at his home.
He was born August 29, 1933, in Lockhart, TX, the son of the late Bibiano and Paubla (Monreal) Llanas. In March of 1957, he married Josephine Martinez and she preceded him in death in 2017.
Juan was a proud grandfather, he loved spending time with his three grandchildren; picking them up from school was a special time for him. He was an avid baseball and softball player and had played many years in Kenosha. Juan loved cheering on his Chicago Cubs, bowling, and playing dartball. He also took pride in a well-kept yard.
Survivors include his children; Diane Llanas, Gloria Llanas, Patricia (Troy) Altergott, and Alex Llanas, all of Kenosha, WI; three grandchildren, Alex Llanas Jr, Aiden Llanas, and Hannah Altergott; and five siblings, Bibiano Llanas Jr, Macario Llanas, Roman Llanas, Gabriel Llanas, and Daria Hernandez.
In addition to his parents and wife, Juan was preceded in death by a son, Michael Llanas; and siblings, Lutedo, Pantaleon, Octavio, Martina, Francisca, Fernando, Frank, Simon, and Aucencio “Chico”.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Proko Funeral Home. A prayer service will take place at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the funeral home to St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Kenosha, WI. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private in St. James Cemetery, Kenosha, WI.
