Louise Valentinusen, aged 72 of Kenosha, WI, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025.
Born Louise Marie Valentine on July 3rd, 1952, in Kenosha, WI, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Grace (Pahl) Valentine. Louise attended local schools and graduated from Tremper High School in 1970. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from UW-Madison in Education and later, a Master’s degree in Adult Education.
In 1977, Louise married James Booth; they later divorced. Together they had two children, Joseph and Lauren.
Louise was a dedicated teacher, spending many years in the field of education, working at Gateway Technical College and most recently in Special Education at Union Grove High School. She retired from teaching in 2010 and enjoyed a retirement that included taking trips with close friends and serving as President of the Danish Sisterhood Katherine Lodge #20 in Kenosha. Louise loved spending time with her MeetUp group ladies, trying new restaurants, and attending foreign films. She also enjoyed vacationing in Door County with loved ones. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family and dear friends.
She will be remembered as a loving, devoted mother and grandmother and a true friend. Her quick wit and cheerful nature are deeply missed already.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her partner, Mark Miller, her ex-husband James, and her siblings Lawrence and Susan Valentine. She is survived by her children, Joseph (Nathan Zolo) Booth and Lauren (Ricardo) Ortiz, both of Racine, WI. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Evan DuPriest and Alexander Ortiz, as well as treasured friends Anne Grimes, Karen Ross, and Jane Wilson.
A celebration of life will be held with family and close friends on Valentine’s Day.
