George T. Mueller age 92 of Twin Lakes, WI died January 23, 2025. He was born in Chicago, IL on July 24, 1932. The son of the late Joseph and Lillian (Lyford) Mueller. On April 6, 1953, in Bar-le-duc, France he was united in marriage to Ginette Pierrot while serving in the United States Army.
Upon completion of his military service, George worked as an over-the-road truck driver and union steward. His skill set led him to a position with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters where he later was elected principal officer of Teamsters Union Local # 43. Additionally, he served on the Central States Policy Committee, President of Joint Council 39, Chairman of Vocational Education, and was awarded multiple “Labor Person of the Year” awards. George had a passion for the working man and was very honest and ethical while working diligently for others to be treated the same.
George is also a lifetime member and former Trustee of the Twin Lakes Volunteer Fire Dept and Rescue Squad where he has served the community of Twin Lakes for over 68 years. He held multiple roles over a 65-year time span with Wywood Subdivision in Twin Lakes as well as president of the OHATB Community of Sarasota, FL. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers Fan, collected cigarette lighters, and enjoyed boating. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his wonderful family.
Survived by his wife Ginette. Father to Eric (Ruth) Mueller and Elaine (Terry) Wiegel. Grandfather to Andrea (Mike) Babinski, Kayla Mueller, and Myles (Danielle) Wiegel. Great Grandfather to Benjamin and Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Joseph (Norma) Mueller and Richard (Bonnie) Mueller.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. John Catholic Church 700 N Lake Ave., Twin Lakes, WI. Burial with military honors to follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the church. Memorials may be made to the Twin Lake Fire Dept and Rescue Squad 236 E Main St. Twin Lakes,WI 53181.
