John Rodriguez Sr. 85, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away surrounded by his loving family, Sunday, February 2, 2025 at his residence.
He was born on May 31, 1939 to the late Jose and Julia (Molina) Rodriguez in Gonzales, Texas.
On March 19, 1960 he married Sharon Jean Farmen. She preceded him in death on July 20, 2020.
John worked as a foreman for the City of Waukegan with the meter department for 30 years.
John enjoyed woodworking, carving leather and carpentry. John also enjoyed working in the yard, camping where he belonged to several camping groups and going to the Upper Peninsula. He loved growing up in Texas and living in Waukegan. John also loved telling stories and making people laugh. John was also very proud of his watch collection and gifting his family watches, which was special for him.
John is survived by his four children Greg Rodriguez, Lori (Dave) Rodriguez-Krause, Rebecca Rodriguez, and John Rodriguez Jr.
He loved and cherished his grandchildren, Brandon (Lauren) Rodriguez, Krystal (Eric) Parks- Campbell, Christopher (Molly) Parks, Gregory Rodriguez II, and Kelly Krause. His treasured great grandchildren, Dylan, Davon, MacKenzie, Aiden, Gavin, Veda, Lorelei and Harper. His beautiful great great granddaughter Mila. His siblings Joe (Sarah) Rodriguez, Jovita Perez, Julian (Latrica) Rodriguez, Jerry (Irma) Rodriguez, Josephine (Mario) Ramos, Emitiero Rodriguez, Jane Vazquez and Margaret Rodriguez. His close friends and family Pete Ruiz, Tracy Ruiz, Homer Parks, and Pete Ruiz, Sr. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Jessie, Jacob, Jessie Joseph, Antonio, James, Jorge and Julie Shultis and a daughter-in-law Sandy Rodriguez.
