Marie Marguerite (Misurelli) Johnston, 76 years old, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Harvest Home, Mt. Pleasant, WI.
She was born July 3, 1948, in Kenosha, WI the daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Andrea) Misurelli. On April 15, 1972, she married Gregory Johnston and he preceded her in death in 2003. Marie worked as a special education teachers assistant for Kenosha Unified School District for 15 years before her retirement.
Marie was a creative and talented crafter; some of her favorites were crocheting and making tissue paper flowers to gift to others. She could play the accordion and enjoyed volunteering her time at local nursing homes, playing for the residents. Marie was also involved with the Kenosha Public Museum, where she taught basket weaving classes for many years. She will be remembered for her selflessness and love for others.
Survivors include her daughter, Claudette Johnston of Kenosha, WI; her sister, Sandy Arneson and her favorite sister, Donna (David) Becker; and nieces and nephews, Andrea, Arnie, Joey, David (Maddy) and Steven.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph (Laura) Misurelli.
Marie’s family would like to send their gratitude to the absolutely amazing caregivers at Harvest Home, as well as the nurses and staff of St. Croix Hospice for their care and compassion.
Funeral services will be held privately. Arrangements are entrusted to Proko Funeral Home.
