Nancy (Behrmann) Nigro, 88, of Kenosha, passed away on March 29th, 2025 with peace in her heart. She was born on October 8, 1936 and lived a beautiful life with a deep love for sunshine and Florida—her favorite place to winter with her beloved husband, Alex.
Nancy worked for many years at the Kenosha News. She took great pride in her work and the connections she made there. Nancy loved twirling baton and mushroom foraging as a child. She adored animals—especially her grandson’s dog, Ceasar, and her beloved bird, simply named “Parrot.” She found joy in music, dancing, and the company of others.
Nancy was a proud member of the Roma Lodge Italian Club in Racine and cherished throwing Halloween parties for her grandchildren, filling the house with laughter and spooky fun. She was endlessly optimistic and deeply kind—a quality recognized by all who met her. She loved conversation, connection, and above all, her family.
Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alex; her daughter, Barb; and other dear relatives.
She is survived by her brother Dick Behrmann (Elaine); sister Kathy Kadolf (Lloyd); daughter, Tami Gandt (Kenny Samuel); her grandchildren: Mitch Braver (Alison), Megan Sawall (Jacyn), Alex Nigro (Brianna), Matthew Nigro, Robyn Hietpas (Marc), Dylan Gandt (Roya); her many great-grandchildren and other family members who brought her endless joy.
Nancy leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and love. She is now reunited in Heaven with her husband and daughter and will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
