SAFETY OVER SALES

Kenosha resident and involved community member, Dr. Hill, said, “There is no safer place to have surgery than in a hospital. The response we regularly receive from patients is that they feel more comfortable having their cosmetic procedures with us, in a hospital setting, where their entire care is coordinated between doctors and medical professionals using advanced medical equipment.”

A unique benefit of plastic surgery at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital is that they only offer services that are medically proven and supported by research to be effective. Every service is performed under the direct supervision of Dr. Hill, a board-certified plastic surgeon. While many of his non-invasive services are performed at his Prairie Ridge Clinic office, all of Dr. Hill’s surgeries take place in the Schmidt Surgical Center located at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital. In every case, Dr. Hill’s patients are surrounded by a team of medical professionals that are focused on ensuring a safe and positive experience.

“What sets us apart from medical spas or franchise salons is that we are fully trained medical professionals specializing in aesthetic procedures. We have a deep understanding of how and why these treatments work, as well as how to perform safe treatments with optimal results,” said Dr. Hill. “It is our priority to provide the community with safe and effective choices for their aesthetic needs.”

MEGHAN LOWE, PA-C JOINS HILL PLASTIC SURGERY TEAM

Meghan Lowe, PA-C Physician Assistant, joined the plastic surgery team in 2023 after graduating from Marquette University Physician Assistant School. Meghan said, “I grew up in this area, did my clinical training at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital, and previously worked with the Salem Fire Department. It feels great to be settled into this wonderful area and working with this leading-edge hospital system. I’m looking forward to continuing to help the people of this community receive safe and effective treatments that help them look and feel healthier.”

Meghan assists in performing various in-office procedures, including the use of lasers for hair removal, facial resurfacing, treatment of sunspots, age spots, and rosacea, as well as microdermabrasion, Botox procedures, and more. “I think it is important to note that some of these procedures, particularly those in more sensitive areas of the body, can be performed by a female practitioner,” said Meghan. “Some patients are comforted that we provide that option. For example, bikini line laser hair removal is typically accomplished in four to six treatments and is performed by Kate Roesner, RN, and me. We utilize a state-of-the-art two-in-one laser that can treat a broad range of skin tones with much less discomfort.”

SKIN CARE OPTIONS TO HELP YOU LOOK AND FEEL HEALTHIER

At Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital, you can choose popular skin care procedures without the medical spa upcharges. “It is important to be aware that you have options for your skin care,” said Dr. Hill. “We customize a treatment plan based on each patient’s medical condition and their aesthetic wants and needs. We take the time to educate patients about their options so that they can make informed choices.”

  • DiamondGlow microdermabrasion procedures exfoliate the outer layer of the skin while extracting impurities from the pores and infusing vitamins into the surface of the skin. This treatment results in skin rejuvenation, improved clarity, and a smoother texture across the face.
  • Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) procedures improve skin tone by reducing pigment variations. This treatment helps decrease age spots, freckles, small blood vessels, and rosacea. IPL can also be used to treat inflammatory acne by helping clear bacteria from pores.
  • Chemical Peels help with texturing and pigment variations. These treatments enhance skin complexion by creating uniform and renewed skin. A full range of superficial to medium-depth peels is offered to individualize treatments towards each patient’s needs.
  • ReSurFx Laser treatments utilize a fractional, non-ablative laser that enhances skin texture by stimulating collagen growth. This laser creates microscopic holes in the skin leading to thermal tightening of the collagen. The skin is repaired by immune cells that stimulate new collagen growth, which thickens and tightens the skin. This treatment reduces the appearance of fine lines. Because the laser does not damage the outer layer of the skin, there is little to no down time, allowing for the application of skincare products and makeup shortly after. Repeating treatments can further improve the overall skin results.
  • Ultra-Pulse CO2 Laser procedures are a more aggressive treatment option that ablates the outer layer of the skin. There are several days of down time following the treatment during which the superficial skin is shed and replaced with new skin growth. The decreased skin wrinkling and improved skin clarity results of this treatment are impressive.

EXERCISE CAUTION WITH NON-FDA-CLEARED ALTERNATIVES

Dr. Hill cautions community members against seeking non-FDA-cleared alternatives, stating, “Non-FDA-cleared alternatives are often ineffective, and they can also be unsafe. Patient safety and reliable results are the foundation of all aesthetic treatments offered by Froedtert South.”

“Additionally,” said Meghan, “it is free and simple to have a consultation with us so we can directly inform you about your options. Consultations for cosmetic procedures are always complimentary, and no medical referral is needed.”

Dr. Hill said, “Other community hospitals may provide general medical and surgical services, but what makes Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital an industry leader is its commitment to offering specialized care, such as hand and plastic surgery, right here in a community hospital setting. This provides a great benefit and convenience for our community. We offer safe options where our community members can elect to have aesthetic services in a convenient location.” Available services include liposuction, CoolSculpting, mommy makeovers, abdominoplasty, brachioplasty, breast enhancement surgeries including augmentation, mastopexy and reduction, thigh lifts, excess skin removal, blepharoplasty, and much more.
