Samuel “Sam” Gene Sikorsky Sr., 66, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Ascension All Saints in Racine.
He was born on November 18, 1954 to the late Raymond L. and Josephine (Westra) Sikorsky Sr. in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha.
Sam entered the US Army and was honorably discharged.
Sam married Denise Schonscheck in Missouri. She preceded him in death on March 30, 2015.
Sam worked in a number of different positions at different companies, including Johnson Outboard, Walt Disney World, AMC, Nuclear Power Plants and finished his career as a journeyman electrician in the shipyard.
Sam was a member of Local 2970, Local 158 and UAW Local 72.
After retirement, Sam made sure to visit as many friends and family as he could while enjoying going out to eat and having coffee.
Sam is survived by his children Samantha Hicks, Samuel (Sarah Phillips) Sikorsky Jr. and Shannon (Heather) Sikorsky, his grandchildren Kylie, Journey, Jaidin, Keaton, Aspen and Trey, his siblings Harold Sikorsky, Barb Sikorsky and Judith Malek, a sister-in-law Brenda Wolfe and a brother-in-law Kevin Schonscheck. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a brother Ray and a sister Linda Jo in infancy.
