Jane Marie LaPalme Dalton, age 59, was a loving wife, mother of four children, daughter, sister, and friend. She passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at her home in Kenosha, WI.
Born on April 6, 1961, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada to Guy and Selena LaPalme. After earning two Bachelors of Arts and a Certificate in Applied Research, she worked as a research assistant for the Leeds & Grenville County Health Department. She went on to marry the love of her life, Steven Dalton, on December 28, 1991, before devoting her life to her family.
Described by her four children as tough and fierce yet loving and wise beyond belief, Jane will be remembered most for her selfless character and her incredible strength. She always put everyone’s needs before her own and was passionate about helping others. She had an infectious smile that could light up any room and had the ability to connect with just about everyone she met. She was an avid reader, a lover of travel, and enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, and learning about nutrition and wellness. But more than anything, she loved everything that involved her children. She was always their biggest cheerleader and greatest role model. Jane taught her children to never settle for anything less than their goals, that no dream was too big, and that no obstacle was too challenging to overcome.
On top of raising four wonderful children of her own, Jane opened her home and dedicated nearly 15 years of her life to caregiving for children of teachers in the community. She held a special place in her heart for every child and parent that walked through her front door. In the end, they became her extended family. Her spirit, character, and legacy will not only live on through her four children, but also through all the lives she touched as a caregiver and friend.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Steven; their four children, Rachel, Christina, Emma, and Daniel; her mother and best friend, Selena; her siblings, Danny, Mary Anne, James (Barbara), and Richard; nieces and nephews; and friends that became family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Guy LaPalme.
