Amey Fonfara, 92, of Kenosha passed away on Tuesday March 4, 2025, at Home Inspired in Somers, WI.
Amey was born on September 23, 1932, in Winona, Minnesota. She was the daughter of the late Roy & Mary (Toby) Lehmann. She was educated in the schools of Trempealeau, WI. Amey married Jerome Fonfara on June 19, 1954, in Arcadia, WI. She was a homemaker for many years. After her husband, Jerome retired, they started an antique store called A & J Collectibles. They were also members of the Moose Lodge in Kenosha, WI. She loved going for a drink at the Moose. Her hobbies included arts & crafts, collecting jewelry, purses, and teddy bears. She loved going to estate sales and flea markets. She enjoyed cooking & baking, cheering for the Packers, but most of all, spending time with family & friends.
Survivors include her children, Barbara Axtell of N.C., Bob (Maria) Fonfara of Mt. Pleasant; and a granddaughter, Jamie Axtell of N.C. and many nieces and nephews. Amey was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Mary, husband, Jerome, brother, Bill, sisters, Anne & Mary, and son-in-law, James Axtell.
