Anna Rose Locante, age 95, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Froedtert South-Kenosha Campus with her family near her.
Born in Roccabernarda, Italy on October 28, 1925, she was the daughter of Tommaso and Elisabeta (Pulera) Rosa.
On October 8, 1951 she married Santo Locante in Roccaberanarda. They moved to France where they lived for a year before returning to Italy.
In November of 1955, Anna and her young daughter moved to Kenosha where Santo had traveled first and was waiting. Here she remained for the rest of her life.
Anna Rose was a lifelong housewife. Taking care of her family was her greatest joy. She loved to cook, bake and give away baked goods. Anna also loved flowers and gardening. In her later years she loved bird watching. But her greatest passion was spending time with her family, particularly her eight granddaughters and one little great granddaughter.
Anna was a sweet and gentle soul who found beauty in everything including the smallest things in life. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Santo, and her parents, one sister and one brother.
Anna leaves behind a very loving family to remember her: children, Lucrezia (Filippo) Carlini of Kenosha, Thomas (Shari) Locante of West Salem and Francesco (Patricia) Locante of Brookfield; her grandchildren, Andrea (Al) Carlini Miller of Longmont, Co, Emily Carlini of Kenosha, Julia Locante of Milwaukee, Christina Locante of West Salem, Lauren Locante of Lincoln, NE, Erin Locante, Caitlin Locante and Ryann Locante of Brookfield; her great grandchild, Vivien Carlini Miller of Longmont, CO and her siblings, Bettina, Ida, Rosa and Francesco, all of Italy.
The family would like to thank the hospital staff, nurses, and physician assistants for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
