Bonnie Hausfeld, 83, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, February 25, 2024 at the Hospice Alliance Hospice House.
She was born on April 7, 1940 to the late Richard and Rose (VanSteenberghe) Greatrex in New Jersey.
Bonnie worked in Product Analysis/Client Relations at Softmed Systems in Maryland for many years.
Bonnie was a member of the Kenosha Senior Center serving as treasurer in 2010 and became President in 2013 until her passing. She was very active and instrumental bringing technology to the Senior Center. Bonnie taught computers and volunteered doing taxes. She was always willing to give back to the seniors in the community. She was also involved with the American Issues Group. Bonnie was also a member of the Red Hat Society and volunteered at the Civil War Museum for many years. She was a wonderful volunteer and will be deeply missed by all at the Senior Center.
Bonnie enjoyed walking near the lake, which was her solace. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Bonnie is survived by her children H.J. Simmons Jr., Eileen (Jack) Johnson and Maureen (Paul) Santi, her grandchildren Joe & Lilly Simmons and Phillip, Patrick & Paul Jr. Santi and a son-in-law Robert Bowers.
She is preceded in death by a daughter Cynthia.
