Carol Ann Szulczewski, of Pleasant Prairie, Wis. Passed away after a courageous 7-year battle with Stage 4 Breast Cancer surrounded by her loved ones at her home on Tuesday, December 31, 2024
Carol was born February 6, 1961 the 4th of 5 Children to Robert and Joyce (neé Mueller) Anderson in Chicago, Ill. Carol spent her formative years on the North Side of Chicago before moving to Antioch, Ill with her family in the early 70’s. Carol graduated from Antioch Community High School in 1979, and earned a Bachelors of Business from Carthage college in 1995, with a further certification in Project Management from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 2016.
Carol met her beloved husband Jeffrey J. Szulczewski in 1987, and they were married December 26, 1990 in St. Thomas, and renewed their vows in a Catholic ceremony on April 12, 2014 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Kenosha.
Carol was a devout Catholic. She loved the Christmas season and giving to others. Her Smile could warm up any room she was in and gave people a sense of ease and comfort. She loved the original Disney Films, and loved to watch classic films with her family and any friends who would visit. In her youth she performed in Symphonic band as a flutist and in Marching band as twirler at Antioch Community High School.
Carol was a career project manager, starting at Allstate Insurance before a short leave to start her family, and returning to the workforce in the early 00’s with Putzmeister, United Conveyor Corporation, and finally retiring from SC Johnson in 2018. She was beloved by many and shared lifelong friendships with schoolmates and co-workers, who came to her side in her final days.
Carol is survived by her Loving Husband of 34 years Jeffrey J., Her children John M. (Sarah) Szulczewski and Cathryn E. (Drew Wightman) Szulczewski, her Stepchildren Carrie A. Szulczewski and Jeffrey J. Szulczewski, her siblings Robert “Eric” (Anna) Anderson, Jan Anderson, Cathy (Jeff) Gutowski and Barney Anderson, her many Nephews and Nieces, and her many friends, colleagues and fellow parishioners at Mt. Carmel.
Carol was Preceded in death by her Father Robert, Mother Joyce, and her beloved Chocolate Lab Katy.
Visitation with family at 10 a.m. & A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 11 a.m. Monday January 6, 2025 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 1919 54th Street, Kenosha, Wis. 53140. Followed by a luncheon at Casa Capri. Internment will take place at All Saints Cemetery in Pleasant Prairie the following morning (Tuesday January 7th 2025) at 9:30AM with funeral procession starting at 9:00AM in front of Our lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Those participating in the procession should arrive at the church at 8:45AM to assembly. In lieu of flowers, send memorials in Carol’s name to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
