Caroline “Rachel” Bradbury, 81, of Kenosha passed away on July 6, 2023, at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Caroline was born on July 18, 1941, in Red Bank, NJ, the daughter of the late Richard and Glenore (Orris) Coblens. Her childhood nickname was “Cookie”. She was educated in the schools of Saratoga Springs, NY getting her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Skidmore College.
As an adult, Caroline decided to go by the name of Rachel. She loved that name and from then on it stuck. Rachel married Lloyd Bradbury who later divorced and married Clyde Frantz who later divorced and married David Pisecki who later passed away two years ago.
She was self-employed with her business, Elegant Waterfowl, as a swan dealer for over 20 years. She loved swans. She was sought out by many in this area of expertise. She loved educating people, especially children, about swans and ducks. Rachel would bring swans and ducklings to her grandchildren’s schools and do educational presentations. Her grandchildren loved it. She also enjoyed working every summer at the Bristol Renaissance Faire selling wind chimes at the Music of the Spheres booth for many years. Rachel attended Immanuel United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church in Kenosha.
Her hobbies included cooking, watching movies, making crafts with David, reading, especially children’s books to her grandchildren and to David. Rachel loved to sing. She sang in many church choirs over her lifetime and even sang in her own daughter’s wedding. She had the most beautiful voice, but most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially with her grandchildren.
Over the last 20 years of her life, she cared for the love of her life, David, who battled Huntington’s Disease. She was a full-time caregiver and took care of him 24/7. She was dedicated to that job and often would say, “This is what I was called to do.” She had such a strong faith in God. She never wavered.
Survivors include her children, Michael (Kathie) Bradbury of Mundelein, IL, Allison (Lee) Nepstad of Wadsworth, IL; her sister, Frances Mague of ME, niece, Jessica Mague & nephew, David Mague; grandchildren, Taylor & Erika Bradbury, Andrew & Daniel Nepstad, Angela (Brandon) Horswell; also included are her great-grandchildren, Caleb & Dean.
