Cecil Lee Schmitt, 60, of Salem, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Wednesday, June 21, 2023 after a long illness.
He was born December 16, 1962 to Paul M. and Barbara J. (West) Schmitt in Great Lakes Naval Station, IL.
Cecil graduated from Central High in Paddock Lake. He worked as a nurses aide in his early years and transitioned to sheet metal work later on.
Cecil was an avid hunter both gun and bow, fisher and loved watching the Packers and the Cubs. He was a record collector and concert goer. He enjoyed his vacations to see family in Indiana. He loved his German shepherd Leroy and cat Sassy who are both with him again.
Cecil is survived by his mother Barbara Schmitt, brother James Dean (Kim) Schmitt, nieces Jana Schmitt and Angela (Jacob) Flores and their children Skylee, Kaylen and Abigail, his nephew Randy Schmitt, Aunt Susan Silva and Uncle Donald West. Cecil is also survived by other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Paul, his sister Julie, niece Kristina and great niece Breeanna.
A Celebration of Life for Cecil will be held on Saturday, July 8th at 2pm at Westosha Lakes Church in Paddock Lake at 24823-74th St. Salem Wi 53168.
