Charles “Chuck” O. Gabby, 83 of Powers Lake, WI, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Fairhaven in Whitewater, WI. He was born February 19, 1938 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Merlin and Wilma Hope (McConnell) Gabby. Chuck was united in marriage to Lorraine Masopust on June 6, 1959 in Chicago, IL. Lorraine preceded him in death on December 24, 2011. He worked as an over the road truck driver earning various safety awards and driving over two million miles. Chuck was very proud of driving career especially being able to drive triple trailers. In his young years, he was a volunteer fireman in Burbank, IL. Chuck was very social and loved to flirt. Together with Lorraine, they owned and operated Gabby’s Resort in Powers Lake, WI. He was an avid rock collector and built rock walls at his home from rocks he collected all around the country.
Chuck is survived by his two daughters; Karen (Wayne) Pitney and Laura (Brian) Bobula, six grandchildren; Eddie Bobula, Samantha Bobula, Christopher Volbrecht, Steven (Andria Hernandez) Volbrecht, Jonathan Volbrecht and Julie (Matt) Koenes, four step-grandchildren; Zeb (Melissa) Pitney, Eli (Adrianna Mach) Pitney, Megan (Yohann) Holzmann and Sophie Pitney, seven great-grandchildren; Aris, Sydney, Emerson, Rowan, Charles, Murphy and Rayman three step-great-grandchildren; Logan, Isabelle and Elianna and his six siblings; Lorna Folta, Loretta Davis, Mary Talano, Alcia Calder, Mike (Jackie) Gabby and Steve Gabby. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 52 years, Lorraine, son, Charles “Charlie” Gabby, and his four siblings; Joe Gabby, Cal Gabby, Merlin Misner and Ruth Gabby.
Funeral Service will be 11:00AM on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Homes and Crematory, 730 N. Wisconsin St. Elkhorn, WI.
