Clara M. “Mickey” McMahon, 88 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021, at The Addison of Pleasant Prairie, WI.
She was born October 21, 1932, in Paris Twsp., WI the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Tetzlaff) Schultz. On July 21, 1956, she married Thomas E. McMahon at St. Mark Catholic Church, Kenosha, WI and he preceded her in death in 2007.
Mickey was a Cubs fan, loved Mickey Mouse, a bowler, cake maker, game player, grill master, joke teller. Mickey was a creative person, talented at decorating cakes, painting, cross stitching, even after losing her eye sight she continued her creative efforts by teaching herself to knit dish clothes by feel and count. Her ability to persevere and overcome was just as strong as her ability to tell or pull a joke on you. As a devoted mother she shared her love and kindness with all her children and everyone she met. After raising her children, she returned to working for many years at Great America in the ticketing department, a job that she truly enjoyed, making many lifelong friends.
Survivors include her children, Terrence McMahon of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Tierney (Blair) Scheller of Hinckley, IL, Amy McMahon of St. Louis, MO, Todd (Julie) McMahon of Kenosha, WI, and Ted McMahon of Kenosha, WI; seven grandchildren, Jeanna (Luke) Martin, Jessica (Jim) Karaway, Michael McMahon, Nathan (Aleks) McMahon, Hannah McMahon, McRaye (Tom Yurek) Scheller and Blake Scheller; and great-granddaughters, Elizabeth, Sofia and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mickey was preceded in death by a son, Thomas McMahon; her siblings, Caryl Glas, Charles Schultz, and Harold Schultz.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Brenda Rosenthal for the excellent care, love, compassion and humor she shared with Mickey over the past year.
Memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Proko Funeral Home with memorial services commencing at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Tom McMahon Jazz Lives Scholarship Fund, in her memory.
