Connie Mae LaFayette, age 76 of Silver Lake, WI, died surrounded by family on June 28, 2024, at Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, WI. She was born on November 10, 1947, the daughter of the late Albert and Aileen (Jahns) LaFayette. Connie was born and raised in Silver Lake, WI and attended Wilmot High School. Connie lived in several states before settling back in the Silver Lake area, gathering many friends along the way.
Connie had a zest for life and loved to have fun, she was always ready for a party! She especially enjoyed time spent with her family and friends, they were everything to her. Connie also liked to cheer for the Green Bay Packers, loved all things flamingo and enjoyed listening to music, especially Elvis.
Survived by her two daughters Michelle “Shelly” (Eric) Ericksen of Silver Lake, WI and Cristin Gimbel of Hoffman Estates, IL. Grandmother to Ashley (Joseph) Hurst, Tyler (Casey) Ginkel, Chanelle Garcia, Blake Mueller, Aubrey Mueller, Evan Mueller and Shane Mueller. Great Grandmother to Kaiden, Connor, Carter, Riley, Cooper, McCullough, Maddock, and a bonus Great Grandmother to Mikayla and Sophia. Sister to Shirley LaFayette and Patricia (Einar) Jensen and a special Aunt to several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Michael Halko.
A Celebration of Connie’s Life will be held on July 28, 2024 from 1:00PM – 4:00PM followed by a service at 4:00PM at Silver Lake Park – Shelter Building B, Area #1, 27000 85th Street, Silver Lake, WI 53170 (turn right when entering the park, the pavilion is the first shelter on the right, Parking Area #1).The family is honoring Connie’s desire to have a party and not a funeral, where friends and family can gather and celebrate Connie’s life in happiness and not in sorrow.
