Dan Garcia, 66, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
A lifelong resident of Kenosha, Dan was the son of Cornelio and Rachel (Carreno) Garcia.
Dan attended Kenosha schools and retired from the Kenosha Public Works Department at age 55. He enjoyed his retirement with his wife Lynn, while adoring their three grandsons, Kial, Noah, and Zepplin.
Dan’s life journey was defined by his loving parents, his three brothers, the love of his life, Lynn (Kemp), his dedication to fatherhood with his three sons, and later in life his three grandsons.
With deep sorrow in our hearts, we bid farewell to a beloved husband, devoted father and grandfather, and a cherished brother. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication to his family and friendships, and always his loving humor.
As a husband, Dan shared a special lifelong bond with his beloved wife, Lynn. Their bond was built on mutual respect, unwavering commitment, and a deep abiding love that transcends time. Together they weathered life’s storms and celebrated its joys, forming a bond that can never be broken.
As a father, Dan offered loving guidance to his boys. He taught them the values of kindness, integrity, and perseverance. In his heart, he knew he raised his boys to be decent, good, and loving men.
As a grandfather, he was tender and loving. His grandsons brought out the softer side of him and he affectionately enjoyed the many gatherings during holidays, special milestones, and regular visits.
As a brother, Dan was a loyal and trusted confidant. He shared a bond with his brothers that was forged in childhood and strengthened over the years through shared experiences, laughter, and love.
Dan was an avid sports and music lover (Go Pack Go). To his friends, he was fun, outgoing, charismatic, and the life of the party. He approached his life with courage, facing its challenges head-on and embracing its joys with an open heart. He was a joy to be around for all who knew him.
Rest in peace, Dan. Your memory will be cherished forever, and your legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know you.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Lynn (Kemp) Garcia; his sons Boyd Garcia, Cole (Ashley) Garcia, and Kyle Garcia; grandchildren Kial Garcia, Noah Garcia, and Zepplin Garcia; and brothers Henry (Heidi) Garcia and Ruben (Roxanne) Garcia.
Dan is preceded in death by his loving parents and brother John Garcia.
Dan’s wishes were for his family and friends to have a Celebration of Life. Therefore, his family will hold a private gathering with the details for the Celebration of Life to be released at a later date.
Dan’s family is grateful for all the life experiences and friendships he was blessed to have during the exceptional life he enjoyed.
