Danny J. Rush, 72, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at his residence.
He was born on May 24, 1952 to the late George and Rita (Dorau) Rush in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School.
Danny entered the US Army on July 1, 1974 and was honorably discharged on August 3,
1978. He was in the Military police and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and was a Sharpshooter and Pistol Expert.
On December 23, 1972 he married the love of his life Colette Ide at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Danny worked as a machine operator for the Union for many years and was a member of the Laborers’ International Union of North America Local Union #113.
Danny was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Danny enjoyed fishing, camping, being outdoors, dancing and lighting off fireworks with his best friend Jeff Tanking.
Danny is survived by his loving wife Colette, his daughters Jennifer (Daniel Smith) and Racheal (Jason Burke) Rush, his grandchildren Veronica and Miranda Bayless and Madaline Grace Haller, his sister Kathy (Jeff) Bush, his in-laws Edward (Sue) Ide, Cheryl Ide, Ellen (Ron) Witechowsky, Margaret (Roger) Gename, Beth (Mike) Oettel and Michael (Deborah) Rodgers and his former son-in-law Daniel Haller.
He is preceded in death by a brother-in-law Tracy Ide.
A Celebration of Life for Danny will be held on Saturday, March 8tha t 2:00 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home with Full Military Honors to follow. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until the time of service.
