David Allen Gibney, 51, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family September 23, 2023 “Fighting cancer to the end.”
He was born on October 16, 1971 to David L. Gibney and Patricia (Peters, Gibney) Carroll. He graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1990. He then attended Gateway Tech.
David worked at Burger King on 52nd St. as a teen and the 1st National Bank before his 30 long years at Abbotts in IL. That is where he met wife Melissa Forbes and they were married in 2003.
David enjoyed time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He loved going to concerts and playing pool with his buddies and spending time with his second family at Abbott’s. He enjoyed his trips up north with his aunt Sue to see his family. David was an avid Packers fan.
David is survived by wife Melissa, his mother Pat, his daughters Amanda (Mark) Cutler and Alicia Lieck both of Kenosha, his grandchildren Jacson, Illiana and Arlo, his sister Dawn (Todd) Hitz, nephews Michael P. and Andrew Gibney, great nephew Hunter, his great niece Willow, his special aunt Sue Gibney of Kenosha, his uncle Dan Peters of Cataract, WI, uncle Curt Peters of Holman, WI, aunt Mary (Jim) Ahles of Racine and aunt Gloria (Jim) Honebrink of MN. He is also survived by many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, his paternal grandparents Earl and Geogetta Gibney, maternal grandparents Robert and Beverly Peters, great-great grandmother Doris Reinert, uncles Allen, Don, Carl and Steven Gibney and aunts Tami (Gibney) Fanke and Connie Gibney.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
