David “Curly” J. Howard, 80, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee.
He was born on February 4, 1943 to the late John and Anna (Baxter) Howard in Milwaukee. He was educated in the schools of Milwaukee and graduated from South Division High School.
David entered the US Navy on July 11, 1961 thru July 10, 1967.
On April 23, 1963 he married Carol E. Anderson at Ascension Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2019.
David worked at Allis Chalmers as a machine operator for 19 years and then as a tool room attendant at WE Energies for 26 years, retiring in 2013.
David loved going on road trips to visit family, music, karaoke, cars, carving and woodworking.
David is survived by his children Evan (Denise Shantry) Howard of Racine, John Howard of Kenosha, Dorinda (Jesus) Aldridge of (NC), Breck (Virginia) Howard of Denver, CO, Todd (Kelly) Howard of Kenosha, Elden (Michelle) Howard of Fredonia, WI and Tammy (Gene) Cruz of Kenosha, his 12 grandchildren: Alberto, MaryLou, Xavier, Justin, Charese, James, ThomasJay, Linsey, Jacob, Gene Elden, Morgan, Madelyn, and his ten great grandchildren Johnny, Alyssa, Anabella, Isabella, Rowan, Lillianna, Analisa, Johanna, Emery, Lena, and his siblings Phyllis (Harold) Struck of Racine, Gloria (Don) Ratz of So. Milwaukee and Harold Howard of Theresa, WI, a brother-in-law LeWayne Tiedke (Susan) of Medford, WI, brother in-law Richard (Jenefher) Anderson of the Philippines, and many dear nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a sister Evelyn (Chuck) Wharton, and his in-laws Susan (Micheal) Rantanen, Patricia Tiedke, and Arthur Anderson.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 16th at the Bruch Funeral Home. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. (noon),
Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Due to allergies the family would request no additional flowers to be sent. Donations to family, animal shelter or cancer center are appreciated.
