Edward Douglas Pendleton Sr., age 85 passed away peacefully with his loving family members by his side on April 6, 2025, at Aurora Hospital in Burlington, Wisconsin. He married Joan Marie Culver on July 9, 1960, in Waucan, Iowa. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and loved by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Born on August 5, 1939, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, he lived a life filled with determination, hard work, generosity, humor, and love.
He retired in 1996 after working for 25 years in the Navy Public Works Center at the Great Lakes Naval Base in North Chicago, Illinois. He received numerous performance awards as well as oral and written commendations for his dedication, competence, professional manner and efficiency.
In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, making clocks, researching the family tree and working on puzzles. He was very much an analytical thinker, building mini generators, batteries, levitation, gadgets, and inserting solar power into his projects. He has a YouTube channel (magnetman2010) where he narrates some of his projects.
He survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan Marie (Culver) Pendleton, his five children, Cindy (Pendleton) Busarow, Edward D. Pendleton Jr., Julie Pendleton, Angela Pendleton and Douglas Pendleton, his grandchildren, Tamara, Nicole, Travis, Jacob, Jenna, Heather, Christina, Samantha and Savannah, his three great-grandchildren, Autumm, Jade, and Seth, his brother, Tim Pendleton, his sister, Debbie (Pendleton) Marvin, his many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Pendleton, his mother, Merle (Hulett) Pendleton, his brothers, David and Howard, and his grandson, Eric Busarow.
The family will be having a private celebration of his life.
Edward Douglas Pendleton Sr. may have left this earthly world, but his love and legacy will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew him.
