Elaine M. “Laynee” Ladvienka, age 90, of Kenosha, WI, passed away on October 10, 2023, at St. Lukes Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Born in Kenosha, WI, on December 21, 1932, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna (Blahuta) Ladvienka.
Laynee worked as a secretary for Motor Transport Trucking for 20 years and worked for J’s Cleaning for over 40 years. Her biggest accomplishment was her daughter, Jayne, who was the center of her world. When she wasn’t outside tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, she was inside watching her soap operas, especially General Hospital. She loved to do puzzles and puzzle books while sipping on her beloved Mountain Dew. She would equally enjoy crushing all the cans after she was done drinking them. She got the family together for Saturday pizza nights or McDonalds to get french fries. Laynee had a spooky bone for horror movies but also loved to listen to Liberace and Tom Jones. It’s all about the balance.
Elaine is survived by her daughter, Jayne Jarvis; siblings, Mary (Frank) Vena and Bettie Hall; grandchildren, Scott (Tara), Steve, Donny, Danny (Christa), Mark Jarvis, and Michelle (Melecio) Carothers; great-grandchildren, Brett, Josh, Skylar, Kira, Erin, Alex, Brendan, Emma, Connor, and Caleb Jarvis, and Cole Carothers; sister-in-law, Marge Ladvienka; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A special thank you to Anna Burnett for the extra care and to Frankie Vena for his thoughtfulness.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Billy and Kenny Ladvienka and Judy (Jack) Granger; and brother in law Bob Hall.
A visitation will be held at Proko Funeral Home on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the family.
