Frances “Fran” (Dyda) Staeck, 81, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully with her three loving daughters at her side on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at her residence from stomach cancer.
She was born on September 15, 1939 to the late Felix and Verna (Zielica) Dyda in Peplin, WI and was raised by Felix and the late Helen (Witkewicz) Dyda.
If life were a movie, Fran would be cast as the fun, easy-going, dependable girl next door with the sunny and likeable personality. She was quick to smile and laugh, always humming or whistling a tune, and ready for an impromptu adventure. Fran had a passion for being a hair stylist her whole life and realized her life’s purpose was connecting with and listening to people. Fran made a difference in people’s lives every day because of her positive nature and kindness.
Fran loved tending to her plants and gardens, knitting, crocheting, and cooking, giving away more meals and cookies than she ever ate.
To all her co-workers and clients, she thanks you for the great years of work. To all of her doctors and nurses, she thanks you for your care. To her friends and family, she wants you to know for certain: “I Love You, I Love You, I Love You.”
Fran is survived by her daughters Laure (Bruce) Steinmetz, Kelly (Evan) Johnson and Shelly (Michael) McDowell. Her grandchildren Michael (Michelle) Steinmetz, Shea (Tarin) Steinmetz and Neil (Miranda) Steinmetz; Lloyd (Whitney) Johnson and Seth Johnson; Cassandra McDowell and Caleb McDowell; and eight great-grandchildren Freddy, Kaleb, Haelee, Jace, Oaklynn, Myla, Ryker and Everett.
She is preceded in death by her sister Antoinette (Dyda) Goldsmith and two nieces Monica and Tami Jo Goldsmith.
Everyone who remembers her is asked to celebrate Fran’s life in their own way. Fran would hope that you would extend an act of kindness or memorials to the Gateway Cosmetology Program in her name. Funeral and Cremation Services are private.
