Garrett “Gary” J. Fairbanks, 54, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Sunday, May 12, 2024 at his residence.
He was born on August 13, 1969 to the late Joseph L. and Barbara Jean (Pyka) Fairbanks in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha and graduated from Tremper High School in 1987.
Gary worked as a machinist at Oemmcco then at Intech in Kenosha WI.
On June 2, 2021 he married Cindy Hazen in Las Vegas.
Gary was a member of the Barber Shop Quartet for many years and very active. He loved grilling, bowling with his cousins and their families, was a WWI, WWII and Civil War History buff and loved all kinds of music and playing basketball, softball and football with his neighborhood friends in his younger years. His favorite movie was Where Eagles Dare and was an avid Packers and Cubs fan.
Gary is survived by his wife Cindy, his son Dustin Fairbanks, his stepchildren Kelly Leisner and Richard (Jayne) Gabriel, his brother Jeff Fairbanks, his grandchildren Dameon Hill, Jackson Leisner, Aria Leisner, AJ Gabriel and Joyce Gabriel and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by a brother Dean on September 19, 2022.
Funeral Services for Gary will be held on Saturday, June 8th at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at the Bruch Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
