Georgia “Joyce” Smith age 93 formerly of Silver Lake, WI died November 24, 2023 at Waterford Senior Living in Waterford, WI. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Joyce was born on May 7, 1930, in Burlington, WI. The daughter of the late William and Astrid (Peterson) Kaskin. On December 30, 1946, in Racine, WI she was united in marriage to Robert E. Smith who preceded her in death on October 24, 2007.
She attended local schools and was a homemaker. Joyce lived in Bassett, Georgia, California, and Silver Lake since 1969. Joyce was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wilmot. She loved her Lord, family, and friends dearly. She was a wonderful seamstress and made many cabbage patch dolls for family and friends. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and golfing.
Survived by her daughter Diana Clarke of Rome, Georgia. Grandmother to Debra (Trey) Proctor of Lindale Georgia. Great Grandmother to Trevor Proctor of Lindale, Georgia. Sisters to Patricia Kjellander, Judy (Richard) Witt, Sharon (Robert) McCormack, Laurel (Richard) Rego, Kim (Craig) Gerbauer. Brothers the late Gordon Kaskin, Ronald Kaskin and Randy (Kim) Kaskin. Stepmother Phyllis Kaskin and Brother-in-Law Doug Schaal and Sister-in-law Donna Kaskin and Betty Kaskin. Further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by daughter Karen (Zirzow) Bowling, sons-in-law Randy Zirzow and Alan Clarke, Sisters Juanita Grady, Betty Hinzpeter, Nancy Denney Joy Belter and Gail Schaal. Brothers Ben “Buddy” Kaskin, Brother-in-laws Walter Grady, Ken Hinzpeter Sr., Leon Denny, John Kjellander, and Ronald Belter.
