Gustave Ehmke, 89, passed away Friday, December 31st, 2021, peacefully at his home in Kenosha, WI.
Gus was born on May 8th, 1932, in Butternut, WI, son of the late Albert Jr. and Bertha (Andre) Ehmke. Gus married Rita Dudda on April 6, 1963, in Waukegan, Ill. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed at AMC for many years and during lay off from there he worked at Barnett Boats. Gus enjoyed everything Green Bay Packers, going to auctions and selling at flea markets, spending time with his pet birds, working on things in the yard, going up north to work on the cabin with his boys, deer hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He was also looking forward to the arrival of his great great-grandson.
Survivors include his brother, James (Roxy) Ehmke; his children, Bonnie Coursey, Yvonne (Dan) Brandes, Bryan (Teri Behrs) Ehmke, Kevin Ehmke, Tracy Ehmke, Kathy Dickey; his grandchildren, Tammy (David), Shawn, Kandi, Amanda (Justin), Lisa (Jason), Samantha (Aaron), Bryanna (Mike), Brooke, Ben, Rachel, Joshua; and 13 great-grandchildren; also included is a great-great grandson that is on the way, along with many others that loved him.
Gus was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rita, his sisters Dorothy Buechner, Shirley Osnes and grandson, Duane Coursey.
A visitation will be held on Thursday January 6, 2022, from 10:00AM-11:00AM, at Kenosha Funeral Services with funeral services to follow at 11:00AM. Burial will be at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
Due to COVID, facemasks are required in the funeral home.
