Irene Mae LeWand, age 94, passed away at her residence on Friday, November 3, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Born on July 23, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Cairo) Salerno and stepdaughter of Armando Finizzi. She was a graduate of Kenosha High School.
On January 24, 1948, she was united in marriage to Jack Angelo, he preceded her in death on March 17, 2009. On December 22, 1959, she married Norman LeWand, he preceded her in death on January 29, 1997.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. In addition, she was a member of the Italian American Auxiliary and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #155.
Irene was the owner/operator of Irene’s Fashion for four years. She later joined forces with her husband Norman’s business with Painting and Interior Decorating. In her spare time, Irene enjoyed golfing and traveling, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, JoAnn “Anasha” (Ronald) Lentz; William (Gloria) Angelo, Carol (Jeff) Hoff, Richard Angelo, Gina (Terry) Angelo and Joseph Angelo, Norman LeWand and Roger (Lydia) LeWand; her 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Irene was preceded in death by her siblings, Frank Salerno I, Frank Salerno II and Mary Salerno.
Funeral services honoring Irene’s life will be held privately.
