James Allen Cooper
1941-2024
Jim was an innovative individual, whom always had a project or hobby to work on. He loved his family and brought joy to all with his continuous smile and witty personality.
Jim was born in Kenosha, WI in 1941 to Robin and Katherine Cooper. His parents enjoyed having him in the kitchen, teaching him ways to cook, especially from their German heritage. His Father loved bringing him kits to build things, along with hunting and of course the love of jazz and classical music.
First, he attended St. Mary’s Catholic school than following St. Joe’s Highschool, being the first graduating class of 1959. Jim continued his education in Chicago at Devry Tech as a certified electrician. Later, he was drafted into the National Guard within the artillery unit. As Jim continued on with his career, he had numerous hobbies; including carpentry, side jobs, hunting, fishing, model trains, cooking, and his love of various genres of music.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Lois Cooper; children, Jim Cooper, Kristine, Michelle Chapman, Allen Cooper, and Amber Palmer; grandchildren, Nevaeh and Marie Palmer, Maranda and Elizabeth Chapman, Eddie and Rachel, along with Allen’s 4 children, and daughter Kristine’s 3 children.
A memorial gathering will be held at Kenosha Funeral Services on Thursday September 5, 2024, from 5:00PM-6:00PM with memorial services to follow immediately at 6:00PM.
