James “Jimmy the shoe” Burger, 75 years old, of Kenosha, WI passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 23, 2022, at his home.
Born on October 6, 1947, in Kenosha, WI, the son of the late Claude and Alma Mini (Still) Burger. James attended local schools and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. He went on to proudly serve in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1969. James worked as a forklift operator for AMC Chrysler for 30 years before his retirement in 2000. James often spent his free time feeding squirrels in the driveway, shooting pool with his brother Andy, and chasing UFOs. James also had a special love for Corvettes and cross-country road trips on his motorcycle with his friends.
James is survived by his sons, Drew (Stephanie) Burger, Chad (Brandi) Burger; siblings, Andrew (Pam) Burger, Claude (SokSue Choe-Burger) Burger, and Jeannie (Lyle) Flunker. James is further survived by his only grandchild, Tabitha Burger, whom he had a very special relationship with; and his beloved dog, Shiba.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Robert “Bobby” Burger.
Services will be held privately at Proko Funeral Home for the immediate family, followed by a public Celebration of Life for James at the Moose Lodge, 3003 30th Ave, Kenosha, WI 53144, on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to his beloved family in his memory.
