It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James William Cameron, age 85, of Bristol, Wisconsin, who departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Born on March 3, 1939, Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, whose legacy will forever remain etched in the hearts of those he cherished.
Jim was a dedicated entrepreneur and mechanic, known for his significant contributions to the trucking industry through his business, Jim Cameron & Sons, Inc. His relentless spirit and strong work ethic served as an inspiration to many who had the privilege of working alongside him.
His love for fixing things led him to open a garage with his brother, Paul, which spurred on their love for racing. The two were racing companions. Weekends would find them racing in the modified class at Wilmot and Lake Geneva raceways. Jim loved tinkering and repairing anything that didn’t work, even to the point of making his own parts.
An honorable veteran, Jim proudly served in the United States Air Force from November 15, 1961, until December 17, 1965, achieving the rank of Airman First Class (AC1) E-4. His commitment to service and community resonated deeply with those around him. He will be remembered as a faithful man of God, with a kind and gentle spirit who was always willing to help those in need.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Penny Cameron; his children, Cliff (Cindy) Cameron, Kim (Fernando) Quezada, and William (Kimi) Cameron; his grandchildren, Leah (Timothy) Austin, Lindsey (Daniel) Pattengill, Andrew (Kelsey) Cameron, Ashley (Christopher) Verbracken, Jonathon Marrone, Travis Cameron, Dylan Cameron, Zachariah (Brittany) Quezada, and Halina Quezada; his great grandchildren, Wesley, Oliver, Avery, and Rose Austin, Ella, Cameron, and Nora Pattengill, Fenix, and Ryder Cameron, Margaret, Charlotte, and Amelia Verbracken, Trevor, and Brooklyn Marrone, Aiden Cameron, Frank, and Benny Quezada; and his brother, Paul Cameron.
