Jane Marchuk, age 66, of Genoa City, WI, formally of Twin Lakes, WI, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2023. She was born Jane Ellen Wiseman in Burlington, WI on December 18th 1956, to David B and Peggy C (née Carey) Wiseman. She attended Lakewood Elementary School and graduated from Wilmot Union High School Class of ‘75. Later, she attended Robert Powers College and Gateway Technical College. Jane was beautiful and did some modeling in her early years.
On November 26th, 1977 she married Guy Trussell at St John’s Catholic Church. For the next twenty years, they built a life of fun and family. Both from large families, and having a large friend group, most of their weekends were spent running from celebration to celebration. Together, they had 2 daughters, Brynn and Reegan, whom Jane would do anything for. She was always helping to expand their interests and hobbies.
Jane enjoyed sewing dresses and Halloween costumes for her daughters, creating art, and writing poetry. Jane’s poetry was just the just right amount of sentiment and humor. She would often write these poems for family and friends and share them at gatherings.
On September 28, 2008, Jane was united in marriage to her high school flame James N. Marchuk. For the next 14 years, they enjoyed downhill skiing, golfing, riding motorcycles, concerts, and traveling to Las Vegas for shows. Later, they began kayaking and Jane took up knitting.
Jane will be remembered as a loving aunt, mother, and grandmother, a hard worker, and the life of the party.
Jane was no ordinary grandma. Known as G.J. by her grandchildren, she would have dance party sleepovers, rocking into the wee hours to Rod Stewart and Michael Bublé Christmas albums any time of the year.
There were a few things that Jane enjoyed more than hosting a party. She loved to “cook for an army” and create a lively atmosphere. She and her sisters had a distinctive laugh known as the Wiseman cackle that could be heard echoing from the kitchen whenever they were together.
Jane was a hard worker with tireless energy, she would often work multiple jobs in addition to being a full-time mom and keeping an immaculate home. She worked for many years as a truck dispatcher for Thelen Sand and Gravel and Payne and Dolan and later as accounts receivable for Light Efficient Design.
Preceded in death by her Father, Mother, and Mother-in-law, Albina Marchuk.
Survived by her husband Jim, daughters Brynn (Falk) Haufler and Reegan (Ryan) Melcher, grandchildren Emory and Charlie Jane Haufler, Gwendolyn, Wyatt, and Finn Melcher, siblings Carey (Tom) Kuhlmey, Kevin (Mona) Wiseman, Paige (Tom) Thelen and Tracy (Dugie) Bollendorf and many nieces and nephews, her aunts Kay (née Carey) Stucka, MariAlice (née Wiseman) (Dick) Matz and Dorothy Wojtowski.
