Jan L. Christensen, 72 years old, lifelong resident of Kenosha, WI passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 15, 2023, at her home.
She was born July 31, 1951, in Kenosha, WI the daughter of the late Jasper and Meryle (Mitchell) Parsons and remained a lifelong resident. She attended Tremper High School and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. On August 7, 1971, Jan married Tom Christensen at St. Mark Catholic Church, Kenosha, WI.
Jan was a talented artist, she worked with various mediums from pottery, painting and print making; any way she could utilize her wonderful creativity was an opportunity for Jan. When Jan was younger she acquired the nickname “Weave” because of her weaving potholders. She also loved gardening and was immensely proud of her yard at home. Her most cherished times were spent with her family, especially watching her grandchildren play volleyball.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Tom; sons, Jon (Kathy) Christensen of Kenosha, WI and Jason Christensen of Chicago, IL; grandsons, Jacob (Leah Becker) Christensen and Tyler (Katie Neu) Christensen; her sister, Cheryl Parsons of Kenosha, WI; and in-laws, Jan (Paul) Clausen, Sherry (John) Schonert and Marsha (Willie) Jerke; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by two brothers, Jeff and Robert Parsons.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the police officers and the medical teams that responded so quickly with the utmost compassion and respect.
