Jean Aileen Larson, 89, of Iowa Park, Texas, formerly of Kenosha, passed away on Monday July 15, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was born on August 17, 1934, in Palmer, MI, to a loving mother, Ali Gustafson, who left the earth when Jean was just three years old. Jean was raised by her father William Gustafson and a loving Aunt Lydia and Uncle Dave Sexton. She spent most of her young life in Negaunee, Mi. In her late teens she met the love of her life John Larson. They married on January 30, 1954. In 1958 they moved from Negaunee to Kenosha, WI, where they worked hard and raised their four children.
Jean worked at Anchor Glass for many years. While living in Kenosha she returned to the place she loved most multiple times every year, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where she and John had a camp on the Dead River Basin. She loved to spend her time reading recipes, thrift shopping, and cuddling with her cats.
Survivors include her children, Dolores (Bobby) Benson of TX, Bill (Kathy) Larson of WI and Sandra (Jerry) Person of WI. Jean had seven grandchildren, Melissa (Eric) Gregorich, with whom she had a special bond, Nick (Danielle) Larson, Daniel (Cortney) Larson, John (April) Person, Steve (Shalamar) Larson, Scott Larson,and Shane Albright. She also is survived by several great-grandchildren.
After the death of John Larson in 2000, Jean shared many years in a loving relationship with Ben Saari. In 2019, she moved to Texas to be cared for by Dolores and Bobby.
She was preceded in death by her husband John of 46 years, her son Steven, her companion Ben, and her mother and father.
A visitation will be held on Friday July 19, 2024, at Kenosha Funeral Services from 12:00PM-2:00PM, with funeral services to follow at 2:00PM. Entombment Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
