Jean Therese Hosmanek, died on February 16, 2025. She was 63 years old. Born on August 31, 1961, she was the youngest child of John and Angeline (Wolsey) Hosmanek.
Jean was educated in the Kenosha public schools, graduating from Tremper High School in 1979. She attended the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater and Lakeshore Technical College in Sheboygan, WI.
Jean was employed by Caremark in Northbrook, IL, Herslof Opticians in Racine, WI, Lincoln Park Optical in Kenosha, and at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital in Racine. She was a valued caregiver to her father in his later years.
Jean was a loving “cat mom” to her two rescues, C.C. and Lucky. She was an accomplished cross stitcher and loved mango pineapple smoothies. Her weekly visits with her sisters, and cheerful daily good morning texts will be dearly missed. Jean had a good sense of humor, a generous spirit, and was a loyal friend. She was feisty until the end.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind her heartbroken siblings, Tom Hosmanek of Blue Grass, IA, Joan (Henry) Turner of Kenosha, Jane Kaiser of Franklin, WI and Mark Hosmanek of Muscatine, IA, as well as two nephews, Andy (Elizabeth) Hosmanek of Wilton, IA and John Kaiser of Franklin, WI and two dear friends, Wayne and Mary.
A special thank you to Fr. Todd of St. Anthony’s Parish, Dr. Knight and the wonderful staff at the Froedtert South Cancer Center, and the staff at the Hospice Alliance House of Kenosha for their exceptional care of Jean.
