Jean M. Weber, age 84, of Hot Springs Village AR, passed away on August 30, 2022 at her home. She was born on December 21, 1937 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Norman and Doris (Newhouse) Fitzpatrick. Jean attended school in Kenosha and graduated from Bradford High school class of 1955. After High school she married Alan Thomas, having 3 children together. She started working at Piggly Wiggly in 1961 to earn money to buy a winter coat, retiring 40 years later as the manager of the store in Antioch, IL. Her marriage to Al ended in divorce, and she married Richard Weber in 1970. She and Dick moved to Bristol Wisconsin, where they lived until retirement. After visiting Hot Springs Village in Arkansas, they knew they found their retirement playground, where Jean was active playing bridge and golf. She also enjoyed fishing, gardening, birdwatching, and constantly reading. She loved to cook, bringing family and friends together. Also known as Granny, Shorty, and Gigi, her family meant everything to her. She will be sadly missed by her husband, family, and friends.
Jean is survived by her husband Richard, children Cheryl (Darren) Bieda and Cynthia Proper, Kenosha; David (Dorothy) Thomas, Warrens, Wisconsin; grandchildren Sarah (Joel) Kapellusch, Timothy (Sasha) Mikulecky, and Kevin Ballard. Also 3 great-grandchildren, her sister Carol (Gerald) Truskowski, aunt Arlene Sinnen, and many special nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents, brother Michael (Mary Lou) Fitzpatrick, her brother-in-law Gerald, and her beloved granddaughter Jamie Ballard.
A memorial celebrating Jean’s life will be held at Kenosha Funeral Services on September 16th, 2022 from 5-7PM. Donations to organizations dedicated to Alzheimer’s research would be appreciated.
