With heavy hearts and fond memories, we announce the passing of Jennifer Lynn Colboth, a beloved mother, sister, daughter, and friend, who left this world on February 21, 2025. Jennifer was born on November 15, 1971, and graduated from Waukegan East High School in 1989.
Jennifer is survived by her devoted family, including her children, Alyssa (Tony) Matoska, Alexandra Colboth, and Shane Ingram; grandchildren, Lucas and Elena Matoska; her loving parents, Darrell and Fran (Marino) Colboth; her sister, Christine (Rob) Cliff; nephews, Jacob, Brendan, and Ryan Cliff; and many cherished friends.
Jennifer devoted 33 years of her life to serving the community as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Waukegan, forging lasting friendships with those she greeted with a smile on her daily route. Beyond her work, she was a creative spirit with a passion for art, skilled in sculpture and both watercolor and acrylic painting. Her artistic endeavors led her to participate in numerous local art shows, showcasing her talent and love for creativity.
An avid animal lover, Jennifer’s heart was full of affection for her beloved cats Tootie and Stevie, her dog Sasha, and her grand dog Monte. She cherished her time spent at the stable, riding horses, and relished every moment spent outdoors, tackling home improvement projects, each one infused with her personal touch. Jennifer had an eye for interior design and embarked on many DIY adventures, turning her home into a warm and inviting sanctuary.
As a proud mom, she delighted in being called “Nana” by her grandchildren, Lucas and Elena, and held a special bond with her sister, Christine, for whom she even played matchmaker. Jennifer loved listening to the music of Stevie Nicks, Olivia Newton John, or Aerosmith, which moved her to dancing, never hesitating to embarrass her children just a little bit.
As we reflect on the vibrant life Jennifer lived, we invite everyone whose life she touched to remember her with laughter and love. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will forever be missed.
