Jerald K. Hanson, 91, formerly of Kenosha, late of Cape Coral, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Thursday, August 10, 2023.
He was born on January 7, 1932 to the late Hans P. and Lila P. (Count) Hanson in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha.
Jerald enlisted with the US Marine Corp on March 25, 1952 serving during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on March 24, 1960.
On August 13, 1955 he married Elizabeth “Betty” Jones at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on February 7, 2012.
Jerald worked as a mechanic at AMC/Chrysler for 46 years, retiring on December 29, 1996.
Jerald was a member of UAW Local #72, lifetime member of the VFW #1865 and a former Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 286.
Jerald enjoyed Muskie fishing with his buddy Willy, motorcycles Indian’s and Harley’s and building cars. He was an avid Packers fan.
Jerald is survived by his daughter Jeralyn (Rueben) Sanchez, Teri (Timothy) O’Hair and Cindy (Steve) Orton, his 10 grandchildren Lisa Urquhart, Derick Gillis, Leo Gillis, Kim Schneider, Renee Schneider, Mark Schneider, William Orton, Jerry Orton, Richard Hanson and Tim O’Hair Jr., his 24 great grandchildren, his three great great grandchildren and his grand dog Max who was also with him when he passed.
He is preceded in death by a son Richard, a grandson Darrell Gillis, a great grandson Leo J. Gillis, five sisters and five brothers.
A Celebration of Life for Jerald will be held on Thursday, August 31st at 11:00 a.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Inurnment with Full Military Honors will follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
