Jerome “Jerry” A. Stephenson, 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2025, in Kenosha, WI surrounded by his loved ones.
Jerry was born on September 10, 1941, to Albert “Ernie” and Maybelle (Raitz) Stephenson in Eau Galle, WI. He spent his childhood in Eau Galle, moving to Kenosha as a young child. He worked as a painter for Ruffalo Decorating, Potente Painters and loved his work as a painter in churches-signing his name in every church he worked at.
Jerry had a passion for hunting, fishing and foraging for mushrooms. He enjoyed making homemade sausage and pickles; even smoking jerky. Jerry’s enjoyment of gambling paid off when he and Susan won a Buick at the Racine County Fair.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Susan; children, Roxane (James) Kislia and Scott Stephenson; Lisa Pollard; grandchildren, Kimmy Soto, Jason Horton, Sharon Kislia, Ryan Stephenson, Kyle Stephenson, and Suzanne (Rogelio) Castro; great grandchildren, Tommy R. Gawloski; Rogelio (JJ) Castro, Arjana Soto, Avah Soto, Alexander Castro, and Valentino Castro. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Stephenson; as well as his first wife, Sharon Stephenson; son, Tom Gawloski and brothers, Fleming Stephenson, Hank Wood, Jimmy Wood and Marvin Wood.

A gathering of relatives and friends honoring Jerry’s life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 3:30 pm until the time of the service at 5:30 pm at the Piasecki Funeral Home, 3720 39th Ave, Kenosha, WI.
