Joan was born on August 28, 1944, in Chicago, IL, the youngest daughter of the late Nicola and Maria (Bouno) Zuppa. On November 1, 1966, she was united in marriage to Patrick W Burke at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel, and they shared many loving years together until his passing on May 9, 2007.
Some of the most treasured family moments were shared in the kitchen around the table, where game nights brought endless laughter and joy late into the night.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, Joan was a past member of Anchor Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Joe) Meyer, and her son, Joe Burke. She was the loving grandmother of her cherished grandchildren Tyler, Emily, Olivia, and Gianna. Joan is also survived by her sister, Emilia “Peachy” (William) Fish, and sister-in-law, Isabel Zuppa. She was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Joe Hederman, and her brother, Vince Zuppa.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home, 620 Legion Dr., Twin Lakes, WI 53181. Burial will be at a later date at the Southeastern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI.
Joan will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her love will live on in their hearts forever.
