John Tainter, 82, of Pleasant Prairie passed away on March 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
John was born on July 30, 1941, in Richland Cty, WI, the son of the late Merrill Tainter and Rhinilla Bichsel Tainter. John married Donna Alexander on November 14, 1959 at the Sugar Grove Church of Christ in Vernon County. He was employed as a driver for Beaver Transport and Quality Carriers for 30 years. His hobbies included hunting, working on cars, cheering for the Green Bay Packers, but most of all he loved spending time with his friends and family, especially with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed going camping with his motorhome in the summer, snowmobiling in the winters, and his birthday parties with his best friend Jim. We can’t forget John’s motto in life, “Never do today what you can put off to tomorrow”.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Tainter of Pleasant Prairie; children, Lorie Dahl of Kenosha, John (Kris) Tainter Jr. of Kenosha; brothers, Richard Bichsel of Elkhorn, Gerald Tainter of CA; sister, Barbara (Paul) Lisney of Madison. Also included are his 8 grandchildren: Jason (Tabby) Tainter Kenosha, Christopher (Heidi) Tainter Kenosha, Brandon (Beth) Dahl Kenosha, Steven Tainter Pleasant Prairie, Kyle (Emily) Dahl Kenosha, Danielle (Clayton) Dale Florida, Leah (Brian) Gustavus Pleasant Prairie, Cori (Pete) Toman Bristol, and two step granddaughters Angie and Branna Vite Kenosha. And 14 great-grandchildren Brooklyn Tainter, Lacey Dale, Olivia, Fin, and Scarlet Dahl, Lena, Ruby, and (one on the way) Dahl, Riley Guthavus, Baylee Tainter and Ensley Toman. 3 step great-grandchildren Sofia Garcia, Michael Smith, and Annaleigh Russo. John was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dalene; brother, Robert and his sister, Merilyn.
